SORRAS Study Survey

About the Survey

The State of Alaska Primary Care and Rural Health Unit has contracted withthe Alaska Center for Rural Health (ACRH), UAA to conduct a statewide assessment of recruitment strategies and costs.

Who is being asked to participate in the assessment?

Individuals involved in recruitment activities within each hospital, clinic, or mental health center are being asked to participate. At some point following the receipt of this packet, ACRH will contact the individual to complete the survey over the telephone. Agencies will not need to mail the instrument to ACRH; the mailed hard copy is intended to orient them to the project and facilitate their preparation for the phone interview.

What does the survey include?

Participants are asked questions about: 1) how they recruit primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, dentists, dental hygienists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, clinical psychologists, and marriage and family therapists who work in rural hospitals and clinics; and 2) what it costs the organization to recruit these provider types.
