Ira Stollak

Ira Stollak, M.A., M.P.H. was a Research Associate for the Alaskan Center for Rural Health. He has recently completed an MPH in International Health at the University of Washington. Prior to returning to grad school, he served two years in the Peace Corps, doing public health work with indigenous communities in rural Belize. Ira lived and worked many years on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, where he designed and managed educational and workforce development programs for disadvantaged populations, and taught college English.

As a recent arrival in Alaska, he's looking forward to enjoying its scenic splendor and meeting its diverse peoples. When he's not engaged in improving rural health, he likes to cross country ski, hike, kayak, read, listen to NPR, and strum his guitar.
