SON Alumni Newsletters

Upcomming Events of Interest:

Dear UAA SON Alumni,

As a project for my graduate degree I spent a great deal of time researching professionalism in nursing, networking, collaboration and the viability of strengthening the Alumni Association at the University of Alaska. I conducted a small survey to see if there was indeed an interest in a stronger alumni association. The answer? A resounding YES!

Alaska is a great community. I do not need to tell you all of the reasons why, you live here! It seemed a shame to have this great community of nurses that have graduated and will graduate from the university not be able to keep up to date with each other. This has the potential to be a great tool to network, engage in community activities, encourage those seeking further education as well as many other benefits that you may not even be aware are available to you as alumni. Share your skills and experience! We are always looking for committed people who are willing to serve on the committee. Please call the school (486-4550) if you are interested in helping-any small contribution you can make strengthens the school, nursing and the university. Check back often! We would love to make this an interactive web site and the possibilities of what it can be used for are limitless! Hopefully by the fall of 2007 this interactive idea will become a reality. This has been a great project for me and I would love to look back in years to come and see UAA’s Nursing community as a shining star. You worked very hard to get where you are let this tradition of excellence continue.

As a side note, this project has in no way intended to exclude anyone or omit contributions. Just the opposite, it has been intended to be a spark. If your information is not included, you thought you provided it or you would have liked to send updated information to anjes@uaa.alaska.edu and let us know!
