UA Health Distance Education Partnership - HDEP Online Project Management Site

The Health Distance Education Partnership is envisioned as an ongoing effort that will support health program faculty across the three Major Academic Units (MAU) of University of Alaska to migrate high demand health degree programs into effective distance delivery format. This will be accomplished by a collaborative effort between instructional design teams (IDT) and faculty both for health courses and gateway (prerequisite) courses. The IDT will work across and within the University of Alaska system working with faculty as they either develop new distance courses or migrate existing courses to appropriate formats. Formats include web-based, video teleconferencing, audio conferencing and blended mediums.

The initial scope of work spans from Summer 2004 to summer of 2005. The implementation will generate maximum capacity in instructional design team development, faculty capacity building, and supplemental student support services, based on the needs of each program and campus. Across the system, there are over 80 health courses needing this work.

This Statewide site will provide an online method for Instructional Design Teams, faculty and project manager/facilitators to communicate about management of work on individual courses and the project administration. There are 9 Tracks listed. Each track will list Courses, (except for the Project Management which will list Tasks). Each course will identify:

• Course number and title
• faculty
• key Instructional design lead
• Steps toward online course completion
• Personalized steps (tasks) for the particular course
• Progress indicator bar
